University Admission Process and Procedures in Pakistan

The Uni Admission Process and Procedures in Pakistan are different for different levels in university. However, whether Public or Private, a university is bound to follow the policy designed and regulated by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. In a nutshell, the Uni Admission Process and Procedures in Pakistan is comprised of two major components irrespective of the level i.e. an entry test and general entry requirement. These are uniform policies which are applicable to all the universities in Pakistan.

For a better understanding, the Uni Admission Process and Procedures in Pakistan for different levels are as follows:

·       Bachelors Level

Bachelor's level/BS/BSc is one of the most important phases in an academic life. Bachelor’s begins soon after the completion of intermediate level or equivalent. The private and public sector institutes in Pakistan offer wide range of bachelor's level degree programs from which the students have an option to advance their education in their field of interest.

The entry level requirements for any bachelor’s level degree program is comprised of two essential components; Entry Test and General Eligibility Criteria.

The Uni Admission Process and Procedures in Pakistan vary across different disciplines and universities. For Instance, to get admission in medical and engineering field, it is mandatory for the students to appear in MDCAT and ECAT after the completion of their intermediate. On the other hand, for admission in other disciplines, NAT, NTS or university’s own entry test is required.

The students are given admission on the basis of General Eligibility criteria which are set at a minimum 60% in Intermediate (HSSC) level examinations. However, for admission in Medical and Core Engineering fields the merit is higher.

·       Admission Procedure

The universities in Pakistan launch their admissions annually after the declaration of intermediate results. The students are required to collect the admission form from university in which they intend to apply. However, Uni Admission Process and Procedures in Pakistan to have been digitalized with the passage of time as some universities have made this application procedure completely online. After the acceptance of the applications, the candidates are required to submit the duly filled admission form along with the required documents within the said period of time.

·       MS/MPhil/Equivalent Programs

The general entry requirement for MS/MPhil level degree programs is sixteen years of schooling or 4-year education after Intermediate.

Higher Education Commission strictly advise the Universities for the admission test which could be

1) NTS for MS level

2) Any Renowned testing such as GMAT

OR

3) University’s own entry test equivalent to NTS

The students have to achieve a minimum 50% cumulative score for admission in MPhil/MS in the afro said testing.

·       Admission Procedure

The Uni Admission Process and Procedures in Pakistan for MS/MPhil is pretty much similar to bachelor’s level programs. The universities in Pakistan launches its admissions annually after the declaration of intermediate results. The students are required to collect the admission form from university in which they want to apply. Online application submission facility is also available but it varies from university to university.

·       PhD Program

The general eligibility criteria for admission in Pakistan is a minimum 3.0 CGPA in MS/MPhil or equivalent.

HEC strictly advise the universities to adhere to the admission the testing policy which is:

1)      NTS for conducting GAT subject

2)      Renowned Testing service such as GRE

3)      Equivalent level test at the university

In case of subject test through GAT or any other testing body; the minimum of 60% marks is required to be eligible for PhD.

Arts Study Programs in Pakistan

 Arts is a well-known study field in Pakistan. The traditional subdivision of the Arts comprises of painting, music, literature, architecture, performing arts and film stories.
